Social Distancing Hat

This was one of my first Arduino builds back in May 2020. (It makes reference to the coffin dance which felt a little dated back then).

I’ve uploaded this project to tinkercad for easy simulation/access:

Social distancing project (tinkercad.com)

The UARDUINO_UNO_R3_5V is coming from the on-board 5V DCDC converter (not shown in diagram below). The input power (which is not shown, is coming from a 9V battery input to the DC Barrel Jack. This battery was hidden underneath the arduino and was placed into a small pocket sewn into the hat just underneath the arduino. I used a needle and thread to secure the arduino board to the hat though its standoff holes.

//things to fix: there should be a 3 or 4 second delay between samples so if you're passing people the buzzer won't go off, only people stanting next to you.
//There should also be a on/off switch so the user can disable the sensor when they're looking at a wall or grocery store isle. A potentiometer could also be used to adjust volume if it's not already too bulky.
